Hollywood

Marc by Marc Jacobs dress, Banana Republic shoes, Balenciaga bag
On my daily walk to work, I often come upon a neighborhood gent who I consider my own little peanut gallery.  The daily commentary usually consists of the gent calling me Hollywood, telling me how nice I look and wishing me a nice day.  On this particular day, he said to me "Hollywood, I have to ask you a question.  Where do you put all the clothes?"  I lamented that it's a problem in my tiny apartment but thank goodness for my three closets to which he replied, "Hollywood, you use them all too and you look good."  It was an amusing and lovely start to my long weekend.

Necklace: Ports and Co, Bracelet: Soho street vendor
Since today is the unofficial start of summer and the time where if one followed fashion rules, one would be allowed to start wearing white, I wore this white lace Marc by Marc Jacobs dress.  It was perfect on the first day that really felt like summer.

Happy long weekend!

Happy Day!!

Kate Spade jacket, DVF top, Zara pants
It felt like summer today and it was glorious and deserving of the bright pink pants!  I wore them with my favorite DVF top with little abstract hearts all over it and a Kate Spade jacket.

Miu Miu bag
Stuart Weitzman shoes
It finally felt warm enough to break out these woven Stuart Weitzman sandals.  Oh happy day!

Simple

Zara blazer, H&M top, Seven jeans, Chanel flats, Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch, Chanel and Coach necklaces.

Work has been nuts and this was just an easy outfit for this past Monday.  Sometimes it's easiest to just keep it simple which I did with an H&M striped top, trusty Zara blazer, white Seven jeans and Chanel flats.  I gave it the needed umph with my orange Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch and layers of necklaces.  I'm thrilled it's Wednesday and that it's getting closer to a needed long weekend.

We All Love Color

Zara top, Talbots skirt, Pour la Victoire shoes
Have I told you before that when I get dressed each day, I get dressed for myself?  Sometimes I'm lazy, sometimes inertia makes me go with my overall mood.  But sometimes to break out of how I feel about being overworked or how I feel about the dreary weather, I force myself to whip out the bright colors because they just make me happy.  That's what I did this morning with this bright orange Zara top, candy colored striped skirt from Talbots and sky high Pour la Victoire platforms.   This evening, after another long workday instead of going straight home and scrounging up whatever is in my fridge, I took myself out for some sushi.  A woman a couple of seats down from me struck up a conversation about how she loved the bright orange, stripes and bright color in general.  And even though I do this for myself, it really is nice to know that in some small way, it makes someone else happy too.

Weekend Tidbits

YSL wedges
I finally got the chance to wear the very, very high (but very, very fabulous) YSL wedges.

Tucker for Target dress, Baleciaga bag, YSL shoes, Aris Geldis necklace
And in classic high street meets high end, the YSL's were worn with a Tucker for Target dress.

I got some gorgeous tulips and peonies to brighten up my day.

Chanel mimosa polish

I love being freshly manicured, here with Chanel mimosa polish.

Chanel ring
I picked up my ring that had been out for repair and it was like a gift to myself all over again!

And an already sweet weekend was made even sweeter by cupcakes (lemon and red velvet).

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Taunted by Miu Miu and Prabal Garung for J Crew

Isn't it so considerate that one's favorite stores will taunt you via email with items you might enjoy?  Miu Miu was kind enough to email me today.  Do you think they know about my shoe fetish?  Or about my obsession with all that is Miu Miu?  Below are my latest shoes to covet.  I think my sister and friend are in cahoots with Miu Miu because they also emailed these shoes to me today knowing that I would love them.  Hmmm, maybe it's a sign that they are looking for a home in my closet.  It will be crowded but they will be in very good company!

My other latest obsession is with Prabal Garung for J Crew.  I mean, I'm a sucker for just about anything with an oversize bow.

Exploding bow blouse

Fit to be tied pant

Bow-dacious denim jacket
I'm off to London and Paris next month and should be saving my pennies for that trip, but this is tough to resist.

Party in the Park

This week has been chock full of parties and philanthropic endeavors and the Party in the Park was to benefit the Liff Fund for the Emerald Necklace.  Despite the cold and rain, the party was gorgeous (and thankfully under a tent).

The exquisite flowers were from Winston Flowers.

The tables just looked magnificent!

But the real stars of the party were the hats and fascinators.  Oh why doesn't this town have more occasions for hats?

And here is Elisha in her hat and me in my fascinator.  Getting gussied up in hats is fun but the people watching was just divine!

Teri John dress, Christian Louboutin pumps, Lauren Elan necklace, fascinator from Elisha's shop

And at the request of the lovely Milla, here is a picture of the dress.

Hot Pink

I posted awhile back about Boston's upcoming Hot Pink Party.  Well it has now come and gone and it was a superb event raising over $1 million for breast cancer research.

The party was in the new Shapiro wing of Boston's Museum of Fine Arts and the space was just incredible.

The flowers and centerpieces were beyond beautiful and the tables were perfect outfitted in pink and white stripes care of Brooks Brothers.

The food was prepared by Boston's own Ming Tsai of Blue Ginger, Daniel Bruce of Meritage and Michael Schlow of Via Matta and Radius among others.

Sara Campbell coat, Kate Spade dress, Lady Dior bag, Valentino shoes

Kenneth Jay Lane earrings, Terry Ross ring, necklace from Small Pleasures, Elisha Daniels flower
As for what I wore, I opted to stand out in a sea of pink by staying neutral in gray and white.  I love this striped Kate Spade dress that I wore with platinum Valentino heels and because it's chilly and rainy, I wore a Sara Campbell jacket from the archives of my closet.

Neon Red

I happened upon this neon red nail polish at American Apparel.  In this picture it looks more orange but in different light it looks like a bright neon red.  I just love it.

Aris Geldis necklace, Equipment blouse, Rag and Bone jeans

So imagine my sheer delight at having found these Rag and Bone jeans in the same color.

Zara scarf, H&M trench cape, Balenciaga bag, Chanel flats

Worn with the trusty H&M trench cape that has been ever so handy in this ridiculous May New England weather that feels like March.

A Few NYC Weekend Images

Zara scarf and pants, H&M trench cape, Balenciaga bag, Chanel flats, Celine sunglasses, Longchamp bracelet

In NYC to celebrate a friend's birthday, we spent most of Saturday hopping around SoHo.

All the ladies were literally kicking up their heels!
